Deb Wesloh is a songwriter, singer, guitarist, author and proud Army Veteran. She currently lives in Texas with her husband and three sons.
Music has always played an important role in her life. When she was 15 her dad gave her a 50s Gibson guitar and she’s been playing it ever since.
She’s started volunteering with Warrior Cry Music Project in 2015 as music group facilitator at the Brooke Army Medical Center’s Soldier Recovery Unit.
After hearing about a Veteran songwriting organization called Soldier Songs and Voices (SS&V) in 2019, Ms. Wesloh joined the San Antonio chapter.
She attended the SS&V Reveille Retreat in 2019. During the retreat, she co-wrote her first song with Mary Bragg, an upbeat song about moving forward after cancer called You Can Go. This song was used in a cancer performance in 2022 and a commercial for a pharmaceutical company in 2023.
She has had numerous singles on the Folk Now collaborative CDs published by Hudson Harding Music to include You Can Go, A Christmas Song for Mom, Conversation with a Cardinal, Be the One and Broken Battle Buddies. Recently a duet called Still Looks Good in Blue, with fellow Veteran, John Lowrance was released. All were aired on numerous folk radio stations.
She released her debut album, a six-song EP in June 2023 which is available on Bandcamp at https://debweslohmusic.bandcamp.com/album/you-can-go and on all streaming services.
In addition to songwriting, she is also an author. With her brother Dan Shaskin, she co-authored two romance novels; A Seasonal Song, https://a.co/d/5bzEoGR and Love's Defining Moment, https://a.co/d/hEt4UTr . Both are available on Amazon.
In 2024, she began collaborating with fellow Veteran John Lowrance, performing, writing and recording as part of Crossroad Creek, www.crossroadcreek.com. They are working on their first EP due out this summer.
She also plays music for residents at numerous assisted living facilities, hospitals, cancer and Veteran events in her area.
She was recently elected to the Soldier Songs and Voices Board of Directors.
When she's not involved with music or writing, she enjoys walking, biking and spending time with family and friends.
